I know there’s no good excuse, but for what it’s worth, every time I think about how I’ve shirked my duties here at roundhoward, I think about all of the sad puppies created by my absence. From now on, that little guy right there (I’m calling him Gulliver) will be my constant reminder to do right by all you readers, human and canine alike. Consider me returned.

That isn’t to say I haven’t been super busy lately. Over the last few weeks, some cool stuff has gone down that’s required me to go incognito. In case you’re not already in the know, allow me to walk you through roundhoward‘s month of February.

I’m going to be interviewing Peter Mayhew in a few days. Maywho, you ask? Mayhew is the man underneath the hairy hide of world renown wookie Chewbacca. The Star Wars vet is one of few actors featured in both the original and new trilogies — not counting Hayden effin’ Christensen, of course. That mofo was hardcore Photoshopped.

Breaking: Nick Fury Fired from Marvel?

Samuel Jackson says talks have stalled

The latest news making the rounds today is that Samuel L. Jackson might be dropped from the upcoming Marvel Studios films Iron Man 2, Captain America and The Avengers. Jackson, who first appeared as Nick Fury at the end of Iron Man, tells LA Times’ Hero Complex:

“I saw ['Iron Man' and 'Iron Man 2' director] Jon Favreau at the Scream Awards and we had a conversation. He said, ‘I hope things are working out for you because we’re writing stuff for you.’ Then all of a sudden last week I talked to my agents and manager and things aren’t really working that well.”

“There was a huge kind of negotiation that broke down. I don’t know. Maybe I won’t be Nick Fury. Maybe somebody else will be Nick Fury or maybe Nick Fury won’t be in it. There seems to be an economic crisis in the Marvel Comics world so [they're saying to me], ‘We’re not making that deal.’”
